Description
Harry Potter is a heptalogy of fantasy novels written by English author J. K. Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the eponymous adolescent wizard Harry Potter, together with his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The story is mostly set at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, an academy for young wizards and witches. The central story arc concerns Harry’s conflict against the evil wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry’s parents in his quest to conquer the wizarding world.
Since the release of the first novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1997, which was retitled Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the United States, the books have gained immense popularity, critical acclaim and commercial success worldwide. The series has spawned films, video games and Potter-themed merchandise. As of April 2007, the first six books in the seven book series have sold more than 325 million copies and have been translated into more than 64 languages. The seventh and last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was released on 21 July 2007. Publishers announced a record-breaking 12 million copies for the first print run in the U.S. alone.
The success of the novels has made Rowling the highest-earning novelist in history. English language versions of the books are published by Bloomsbury in the United Kingdom, Scholastic Press in the United States, Allen & Unwin in Australia and Raincoast Books in Canada.

Hi,
I really like what you are doing with the page. I wonder if you noticed the problems in your HP and the half blood prince. every word is full of dashs, the other books in the package seem ok. Its funny as thats the one I want to read. I bought the book originally and never read it because it was too bulky to carry on my commute. Now I have a 505 I thought I would give it a go in style. Do you have a clean version?

The following books have a problem:
The Sorcerer’s Stone
The Chamber of Secrets
The Prisoner of Azkaban
In all of them, on about every second line there’s a space missing, which makes it really hard to read. It would be great if that could be fixed.
Thanks!

thanks for the fix on the 6th book, however i too am also having problems with the other books mentioned in the above post. it seems like this is common with quite a few of the harry potter releases specifically with issues, either what was mentioned, or poor ocr, with omission of spaces and punctuation. would love to see these available.
i really think this site is great and love what is available here, i really love this device too!
as a side question, are there good tools for modifying the content displayed for the book that the reader displays? for example the title and author fields. i would love to be able to edit these, anyone have any hints?

hey, extremely sorry folks. i just plain forgot good ol’ HP (the perils of having something in DT and over-read atleast 40 times
) Will have a word with the editorial team. HP will be updated within 24 hours of this post

@doot, the author names/book title is basically metadata. You could try using EditLRFmeta for editing…here’s the link

And the readme:
